A THREAD OF DREAMS AROUND THE WORLD.

Man has always dreamt in perennial symbols and images, no matter when or where. Thus the stone as a metaphor may stand for the unchangeable, the archetype, but also for the link of the dreamer with an invisible and subconscious part of existence.

All over the world, people dream about themselves, their fellow man and about their connection with a super terrestrial world. All these dreams make part of a texture that invisibly covers the world. The "dreamline project" aims at decovering one or more of the threads of this texture by connecting individual dreams, by means of the internet.


A sculptres has been asked to treat a stone so that you can rest your head upon it. Additionally she marked the stone with a personal symbol. This stone is to be passed on to a befriended artist, who, in her or his turn, does the same, so that the stone will travel from hand to hand, from country to country, around the world.

Everyone who receives the stone, presents one of his dreams, a photograph of his head resting on the stone as well as a photograph of an artists impression of these dream. Before passing on the stone to the next one, the dreamer may decorate it with his own sign. In this way, the stone will make a tour in a wild pattern, leaving a trail of personal connections from dreamer to dreamer: a thread of the spiritual decendants of Jacob.
